Recording of data is one of the most powerful things we can do for nature. The collection of data over time gives us an overview of how species are reacting to management and climate change.

Data is no use unless it’s in the right hands. The data we collect is transferred to land owners, and local and national organisations, such as Natural England, who can use the data to adjust management regimes.

No matter your level, RoAM can benefit from your involvement

RoAM is made up of a mix of experts, keen amateurs and beginners. Members events are friendly and relaxed and everyone learns something from every session.

A quick report on the general recording survey at Unit 43, Shapwick Heath NNR held on Thursday 4th September 2025. As well as being an enjoyable road-to-discovery for members, RoAM field trips aim to gather wildlife records to support managers of the nature reserves.
